Welcome to Psych North Psychotherapy, owned and operated
by Nathaniel Steinke, Registered Psychotherapist.
A lot of the people I work with are carrying more than they let on, whether that’s anxiety, grief, trauma, or just a sense that something isn’t quite right.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out.
My role is to offer a space where you can slow things down, make sense of what you’ve been through, and begin to move forward in a way that actually feels meaningful to you.
If you’re considering therapy, we can start with a simple, no-pressure conversation to see if this feels like a good fit.

Choosing a therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you’ve already tried to work through things on your own and still feel stuck. Many of the people I work with aren’t just looking for ways to manage symptoms. They want to understand why they think, feel, and respond the way they do.
Here are a few reasons people choose to work with me:
A focus on getting to the root, not just the surface
We don’t just stay at the level of coping strategies. Together, we look at the patterns underneath to discover where they come from, how they’ve developed, and why they continue to show up in your life.
For people who are ready to go deeper
A lot of my clients are thoughtful and self-aware, but still feel stuck in the same cycles. Therapy becomes a space to slow that down and make sense of it in a deeper, more meaningful way.
A pace that respects your process
Going deeper doesn’t mean being pushed. We move at a pace that feels manageable, so you can explore what’s underneath without feeling overwhelmed.
Real conversations, not a clinical script
This isn’t about checking boxes or following a rigid structure. It’s a genuine, grounded conversation focused on helping you understand yourself more clearly.
Lasting change instead of short-term relief
The goal isn’t just to feel better for a week or two. It’s to create insight and shifts that actually change how you relate to yourself and your life over time.

My psychotherapy journey began at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. After that, I attended Tyndale University in Toronto, Ontario where I graduated with a Master of Arts in Clinical Counselling.
Since graduating, I have taken what I learned, combined with more than 15 years of management and leadership experience, and put it into my work as a Registered Psychotherapist.
Outside of the therapy room, I am a husband and a father of four, active in my community as a musician, and a leader in my church. I have lived in Massey, Ontario for most of my life and understand the struggles that come with living in a small, Northern Ontario community.

I am a compassionate listener who offers a conversational, collaborative approach rooted in the tradition of talk therapy. My goal is to walk alongside you. Whether you’re navigating life transitions, exploring your mental health, working through relationship dynamics, or facing grief, trauma, or other personal challenges, I strive to create a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and safe to be yourself.
I welcome individuals at any stage of life and honour the uniqueness of your experiences and needs. Drawing from a range of therapeutic orientations, I tailor our work together to fit you, bringing in tools and approaches that align with your goals, values, and preferences. Whether you’re seeking clarity, healing, or growth, I am here to support you with care, curiosity, and respect.
